I realize that ''Wood Welding'' has been around for fifty years but I was only turned on to it about a year ago. This unit is really slick! It bonds wood parts, plastics, hardboards and plastic laminates in about 8 seconds. I didn't believe it until I actually saw it work at a show on the west coast. I was looking for something to bond 3/4" oak to the edge of a laminated panel without alot of hassle. Well, I found what I was looking for when I found this unit from Work Rite. The WorkRite Electronic welder reacts to the moisture in the glue, causing it to cure immediately. You simply glue up your work piece with a recorcinal glue (available anywhere), apply the work piece to it's mate and zap it with the light weight hand held gun. The movement of the molecules in the glue are increased by the radio waves causing friction, therefore creating heat, curing the joint. It all happens in about 8 seconds. I can apply a piece of oak to a panel, weld it and start machining it all in about 2 minutes. Not only does it save time but it saves on the need for a bunch of bar clamps. The production model 4000 is capable of penetrating through 2" of material while the model 3000 can handle 1-1/2". Both units are designed for a one hand operation and require 115 VAC, 18 Amp max. A lightweight hand gun and flat electrodes are standard equipment. Miter & Roller electrodes are also available. The WorkRite welder comes with a 120 day warranty.

DIELECTRIC HEATING / ELECTRONIC WELDING / RADIO FREQUENCY
ALL USE THE PRINCIPAL OF MOLECULAR FRICTION

The theory of Dielectric Heating is based on the fact that disturbed water molecules cause friction, and therefore, create HEAT. The disturbance is caused by very high frequency cycle change (twenty seven million times per second), which moves the water molecules of glue at such a tempo that the friction generates heat, and the glue bond is complete.

The WorkRite Welder will work with any water-based glue on today's market. Because of the heat generated in the glue line, we recommend pre-catalyzed glue, which achieves faster and stronger results (i.e. Kor Lok, Titebond II, and Wonderbond). When you see steam in the glue joint or approximately 5 seconds (never more than 10 seconds) has elapsed, move on. Never overheat your glue; it becomes weak.

The WorkRite Welder has been certified to pass all occupational and controlled exposure standards set fourth by the code of Federal Regulations No. WRK-001A. It is registered and fully described in a report filed with the FCC.
